The image above is the most notable one released by Starz for Sunday’s new episode, as it signifies that there is a happy reunion coming for Richard Rankin and Sophie Skelton’s characters. We will admit that we’re somewhat surprised the network released something that directly gives the reunion away in advance, though at the same time it is hardly a surprise judging from what was already in the promo. These two are closing in on seeing each other again and when they do, they are going to be doing so on the other side of what is a long and particularly-arduous journey from Scotland to North Carolina.
While we do want to imagine that the two are going to be both together and happy, it’s also clear that there are some important conversations that they need to have about what pushed them apart in the first place. It also seems fair to assume that they are not exactly the same two people that they were for most of the series leading up to this point. They will have gone through a great deal by the time they reunite and they may need to heal from some of the physical or psychological scars that they have.
For now, though, it’s fairly easy to just look at the photo above and have an enormous smile on your face.
What’s going on with Jamie and Claire?
For those of you who like glamour, this photo is for you! Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are getting dressed up once more for this upcoming episode, which seems to be taking them into the same orbit as Governor Tryon, at least temporarily. This is a chance for Jamie and the Governor to have a heart-to-heart about the state of things at Fraser’s Ridge, but also a chance for there to be some tension over the looming threat of the Regulators. These people are going to become an increasing problem, but what makes this a problem for Jamie is that their leading is none other than Murtagh! He’s going to have to tow the line carefully here — the only reason he has land is because of the Governor. Yet, at the same time, he doesn’t want to betray one of the most important people in his life. He also has made his feelings for the British government rather clear over time.
