Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 video: Andy Samberg, cast on what’s next

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Leading into the Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 premiere on NBC next month, we’ve got a new look at what’s ahead!

In the video below, you can see Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero, and the rest of the cast detail some of what’s coming, while also setting up some of the events from the finale for those who missed it! After all, there was a lot that happened within the final chapter of season 5, whether it be Jake and Amy getting married or Captain Holt getting a prestigious new job offer.

When the series comes back onto NBC, it definitely does feel like one story that is going to be picked up in a big way is the state of things with Holt. We’ve gotta figure out precisely how his future is going to be shaped and it’s a somewhat-precarious position for the show. You want to see him move forward but, at the same time, you also don’t want to see the series change all that much. The continuity of it is one of the things that makes it particularly notable; it’s the same group of people, by and large, and through all of these seasons, we’ve had a chance to see them all become a family. This is something that is going to continue further moving into the new season, at least at first. Eventually, things are going to change as we end up saying goodbye to Chelsea Peretti and her character of Gina. There is no precise word as of yet surrounding how this character is going to depart, but odds are it will happen in a way that makes at least some sort of sense.

In general, though, be sure to anticipate Brooklyn Nine-Nine being some sort of different show than what it was over on Fox. It’s on NBC now, which in theory is so much more of a supportive network than it had previously. This is, at the very least, a network that has a substantial studio reason to want to keep the series on the air. Hopefully, viewers are going to respond to some of the extra promotion and Brooklyn Nine-Nine ends up delivering some much-improved ratings at its new home. We know that it makes a lot more sense for it to air there so fingers crossed that the show succeeds greatly when it actually comes on the air.

Regardless of the ratings, just relish the fact that you’ve got so much more of a great show coming! There’s plenty to smile about here.
