Outlander season 4 episode 8 promo: Jamie warns Murtagh; Roger’s hopeful reunion

Outlander season 4 episode 8 is set to arrive on Starz this Sunday and if the promo below is any indication, we’re in for quite a treat! This episode is going to pick up in some ways where this past one in “Down the Rabbit hole” left off. Yet, at the same time it also is bringing Jamie and Claire fully back into the fold after they were MIA on this past hour of the show.

Let’s start this promo analysis by really focusing on what’s happening with Jamie and Claire, as Governor Tryon is making it very clear to Sam Heughan’s character that he does not appreciate the Regulator movement. More than that, there is also one man in particular who has his ire: Murtagh. A man Jamie cares about infinitely more than the Governor is in danger and it is up to Jamie to go to him with a warning that he is in trouble.

While at first it seemed as though Murtagh was going to have to bend over backwards in order to protect Jamie and some of the information he has about him (and also walk the line with Fraser’s Ridge, given that it was established with government land), he’s probably going to be very grateful that Jamie is around now. It could be something that saves him from serious harm as some of the seeds are being sewn for the American Revolution.

As for what we’re seeing elsewhere, there is some good news coming for Roger as it seems as though, on paper, he and Brianna are gearing up for a reunion! While that looks to be great news, there is something that could eventually derail the overall feeling around it. If what happens to Brianna and Bonnet in the books happens here, it’s going to be traumatizing for her and a difficult thing to present on the series itself. It’s not something we want to speculate on too much since we haven’t seen the episode just yet, but it is clear that there are some serious hardships coming and things that she and Roger are going to have to conquer in the episodes to come.

It should be clear, at this point, that we’re gearing up for a big meeting with Brianna and Jamie — that could actually be one of the events that many diehard book fans are looking forward to the most! Given that it’s already been teased online that this moment is happening this season, there’s nothing wrong with having a little more discussion about it now.
