The Neighborhood episode 12 return date on CBS; what to expect
Tonight’s episode is serving as the midseason finale for the sitcom starring Cedric the Entertainer and Max Greenfield and, in the aftermath of it, you’re going to be waiting for quite a while still to see what’s coming up next! So how long in particular? Think in terms of Monday, January 14 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. That’s when “Welcome to Grover’s Birthday” is set to air. On paper, this feels like it will be a fairly-innocent story all about a kid’s birthday party; but, in true CBS sitcom fashion, nothing is going to go according to plan. This is an episode where a lot of chaos will unfold and it will be up to a few different characters in order to piece everything back together again.
Below, CarterMatt offers up the official The Neighborhood episode 12 synopsis with some other information as to what’s coming up next:
“Welcome to Grover’s Birthday” – When Dave and Gemma’s elaborate plans for Grover’s 7th birthday party go awry, Malcolm and Marty come to the rescue. Also, Calvin’s choice of gift winds up sending one person to the hospital, on THE NEIGHBORHOOD, Monday, Jan. 14 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
What are the chances of The Neighborhood season 2 happening at CBS?
At the moment, we’re reasonably optimistic that there will be more of the sitcom happening down the line. It is drawing to date more than 6.4 million live viewers and a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. While it’s true that these are not particularly-dominant numbers for CBS, at the same exact time they are solid enough for us to be reasonably optimistic when it comes to the show’s future. CBS could renew The Neighborhood and use it to either lead off Monday night next fall or to air it after another promising new comedy.
As we do move into the fall, we absolutely are suspecting that CBS’ comedy lineup as a whole will be in a precarious position. They are losing from the schedule The Big Bang Theory, one of their biggest hits of all time, and that is something that they are going to have a rather-difficult time replicating or replacing. While we don’t foresee this show being anywhere near the global success story that the Jim Parsons show was, moving forward it could be a nice compliment / component to a larger lineup that the network sets up. We’ll just have to wait and see what some of the plans are there.
