As we get into Gotham season 5 episode 2, there are a number of big things that you can expect to see. One of them is going to be the partnership of Jim Gordon and Barbara Kean. Think back to where these two were at the start of the series, and then also where they’ve been a little more recently. Who could’ve expected this? Part of the fun that could come from seeing them work together is their history, and another part of it could be circumstance.

No matter the reason, this partnership could make this January 10 episode (entitled “Tresspassers”) all the more effective. Not only that, but it does seem like there’s a good story for Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle coming at the same time.
Below, CarterMatt offers (via ComicBook.com) a few more details as to what’s coming up next:
Gordon and Bullock (Donal Logue) investigate a location where several kids have been kidnapped. Barbara (Erin Richards) proves to be an unlikely ally to Gordon. Meanwhile, Bruce looks into an alleged witch with healing powers for Selina (Camren Bicondova), and Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) deals with demons of his own.
One of the things that could benefit Gotham season 5 the most is it having the wonderful gift of foresight. Everyone knows not precisely when the story is going to end and because of that, the writers have something very much specific to build towards. We do think that there’s something rather wonderful that comes with this and, with that in mind, we certainly hope that they embrace the opportunity to tell compact, fascinating stories for all of these different characters. (There are twelve episodes poised to be in the final season; more details will be coming in a matter of time.)
Gotham season 5 premieres on Fox come Thursday, January 3, and signs already point towards No Man’s Land being one of the big arcs. The city is in peril, villains have taken over various sectors, and it is basically up to just a small group now to ensure that this city ends up emerging through the rubble onto the other side.
Rest assured, once there is a little bit more news to report on the subject of Gotham season 5 and the eventual end, we’ll absolutely have some of it for you here.
