Riverdale season 3 episode 9 return date hopes for KJ Apa, cast
Obviously, the idea of tonight being the midseason finale for these shows is going to be rather-sad for many people out there, mostly because it feels like the stories for so many of these characters, especially for Archie and Jughead, are really just starting to heat up. Alas, this is precisely what’s happening. The CW does not want to air new episodes of some of their shows close to the holidays, thinking mostly that their younger viewers are going to be off doing some other things. It makes a little bit more sense for them to take a break, and then come back after the fact to deliver some new episodes in the new year. Then, they can take advantage of the higher ratings that tend to come in the winter months, coupled with the chance to tell stories in another lengthy block of episodes. This is the benefit that comes with only airing eight episodes in the fall — you give production more time to get ahead of the game.
Per the Futon Critic, Riverdale season 3 episode 9 is going to air on The CW come Wednesday, January 16 — the episode’s still too far away for the network to be revealing too many details about what actually lies ahead, but odds are, it will pick up almost immediately after the fall finale in terms of cliffhanger resolution. More than likely, The CW will air new Riverdale episodes through most of the second half of January and then most of February — this is typically what they do before taking another break.
Expect more relationship drama, high stakes, and characters doing some rather unexpected things — basically, the sort of things that are the very foundation for Riverdale as a series.
What are the current season 4 renewal odds?
We understand that there is always curiosity around these sort of things and, at least for now, we’ve got nothing but good news to report on. Season 3 is averaging a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and, to go along with it, just over 1.3 million viewers. These are declines of less than 10% in both measurements from season 2 and, with that in mind, The CW has to be thrilled with what’s happening here. It’s one of their more-popular shows and it is somewhat rare for CW shows to drop less than 10% between seasons these days. (Shows geared towards young people have a harder time retaining viewers.)
While there may not be official news on a season 4 renewal until spring, you can go ahead and bank on it happening pending some sort of absolutely-crazy surprise.
