Critics’ Choice Awards 2019: Better Call Saul, Killing Eve, Richard Madden among nominees

Critics -Today, the nominations were the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards were announced, and they are good news for a number of different series out there. For example, you’re probably smiling if you love Better Call Saul, The Good Fight, or Freddie Highmore — there are many shows/actors who were nominated here who weren’t given the same degree of love over at the Golden Globes. There are also larger pools of nominees in most major categories, which is rather useful in actually reminding us that there is a TON of TV out there and it’s really hard to narrow things down.

Below, you can see some of the nominees for the TV categories, with a little analysis thrown in there. The 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards will be aired on The CW come January 13.

Homecoming (Amazon)

Killing Eve (BBC America)

My Brilliant Friend (HBO)

Pose (FX)

Succession (HBO)

It’s nice to get Better Call Saul back in the fold; meanwhile, My Brilliant Friend is probably the big surprise here — it may be the most critically-acclaimed show out there for a show few readers have heard of at the moment.
