The good news as we approach this upcoming episode is simply that Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin are going to take center stage. For viewers out there who love these characters, this is going to be their biggest story yet as we have an up-close-and-personal look at what’s happening following their journey to the past. (Starz has already highlighted in their official synopsis that Roger is going to try and follow Bree into the past in hopes of finding Bree and helping her — what better test of his love is there than trying to make a bold move like this? We’re not quite sure there really is one.)
Now, here’s the bad news: Ed Speleers is going to be back in this episode as Stephen Bonnet, a.k.a. the worst human being imaginable. This loathsome man already thieved Jamie and Claire after purporting himself to be a reasonably-honorable man; moving forward now, the promo gives you a sense of a ship that he is in total command of, one in which he controls every single aspect of it from start to finish. That’s terrible news for anyone who gets on board that ship. This is the part of the series where we start to become rather hesitant to say too much in fear of spoilers getting out, but be aware that there are some very difficult scenes that are coming. These are a big part of the reason why the Bonnet character is so hard to stomach, beyond of course everything that we have seen the man do so far.
If Brianna can make it all the way to Fraser’s Ridge, there could be a happy reunion in the works. Let’s just hope that this happens long before the supposed fire breaks out there that will cause Jamie and Claire to lose their lives. (Unless she takes years to arrive there, in theory she should be able to make it before the time of the infamous fire.)
One change that is coming from the books
For those wanting Brianna to meet Jenny, it’s not happening — at least for now. Laura Donnelly, who plays the character, was unable to return for the part due to scheduling commitments at that time. Nonetheless, it’s possible that Bree may have a chance to see some other familiar faces, ones of a more-positive variety than Bonnet, during her journey.
