Criminal Minds season 14 episode 10 preview: Prentiss & Mendoza’s date

Criminal Minds season 14 episode 10

Next week, Criminal Minds season 14 episode 10 is going to air and, unfortunately, it’s the final episode of the year. There are still five more coming on the other side of the new year, but we have to just to enjoy some of these episodes in the moment.

So what is coming up on this particular episode? Basically, this is going to be a chance to seeing Emily Prentiss in the spotlight both in terms of her past and her present. The case that the BAU is taking on is going to have some really-significant ties to the character’s past and, to go along with that, we’re also going to get a chance to see a really-fun story in the present that is all about Emily and her personal relationship with Mendoza. We first got a chance to see the two characters together earlier this season and it was fairly clear that they had some chemistry. The question that comes from here is mostly whether or not that will lead into something more.

Below, CarterMatt offers up the full Criminal Minds season 14 episode 10 synopsis with some other insight as to what’s coming:

“Flesh and Blood” – Prentiss faces her past when the BAU is sent to investigate the murders of prominent businessmen, all of whom are missing their hearts. Also, Prentiss plans a romantic first date with Mendoza (guest star Stephen Bishop), but the evening is cut short by an urgent call from Rossi, on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, Dec. 12 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

For now, it doesn’t really feel like we’re in a spot yet where we can fully say one way or another if this relationship with Prentiss and Mendoza will work. What we do know at the moment is that we’re glad the character has a spotlight, especially since we’re getting close to the end of the season. We’re starting to inch toward a season or series finale and we want all of the longtime BAU characters to get a chance to shine in there. (Remember that you can still impact the future of this show!) It’d also be nice to have some sort of larger threat present itself and to have a finale that feels a little bit larger in size or scale than some of the others we’ve seen. The more that the finale can pop, the better off the show will be.
