The Conners episode 8 preview: ‘O Sister, Where Art Thou?’

Are you ready for The Conners episode 8 to arrive on ABC in seven days’ time? This episode is important for a multitude of reasons, with the biggest one being the simple fact that this is the final one this year presumably. On the other side of that, you’re going to more than likely be left waiting until January to see some of what lies ahead and we imagine that the producers are going to conjure up some rather-great stuff in this story. We’re going to have a chance in here to see a major rift form between Becky and Darlene, the sort that would probably be somewhat-damaging were it not for this being the sort of show where these sort of things can be worked out.

Beyond just what’s going on with Becky and Darlene, there’s certainly going to be a good bit of comedy elsewhere with Dan, Jackie, and a few other characters. Really, as a whole this episode should give us an opportunity to see a number of character-based stories that update us on where everyone is right now … while also, of course, looking ahead to the future. There are at least a few more episodes coming up for this 11-episode season; after that, things get a little bit more unclear since there is no clear indication at present as to whether or not there will be more of The Conners down the pipeline at all.

When Becky helps Harris keep a secret from Darlene, it opens up a can of worms that causes a rift between the two sisters. Jackie supports Peter with his Nordic history project, and Dan reunites with an old friend.

One thing that we certainly are interested in seeing is whether or not The Conners an muster some sort of ratings bump before we get to the end of the year. While it’s certainly true that this is not the same show ratings-wise that it once was, we do also think that it’s been a top-tier network comedy in its live+same-day ratings. Numbers are often relative and compared to some other comedies out there, it’s doing fine.
