Outlander season 4 episode 5 expectations: A story of settlers

This upcoming episode is going to kick off with what seems to be some sort of a time jump, given that Jamie and Claire’s cabin is going to actually be together after they worked to get construction underway on Sunday. With that project complete, they can now focus on the next objective: Trying to help build a new society. Alas, that’s not going to be anywhere near as easy as it looks.
1. Jamie’s attempts at recruiting – One of his main goals in this episode is going to be trying his best to find suitable settlers for Fraser’s Ridge, but along the way he and Young Ian are going to be stymied by a political movement. Is this tied in some way to the American Revolution? That’s a suitable guess, all things considered, but for the time being, that is all it is when there are some other scenarios that could also be playing out here.
2. Claire, 19th-century healer – In the early going, this episode is going to feature Caitriona Balfe’s character doing her best to help a group of German settlers, but in the process of doing this another problem will soon arise: Tensions between these people and the Cherokee. All of a sudden, she goes from trying to be a healer to being a mediator, and we’ve got a feeling that things could turn ugly at just about any segment. The dispute here seems to be over water, as both the Native American people and the German settlers have differing views on ownership.
3. What’s happening with Brianna? – This was the subject of the big cliffhanger at the end of this past episode, as she apparently decided to head back to Scotland in hopes of traveling through time and seeing her parents. (That’s at least the story we’ve got on it at the moment.) This episode will bring you an update, as we end up seeing Roger doing his best in order to locate her across Scotland. There’s no guarantee, however, that he will find her before she makes her decision and effectively changes the remainder of her life.
All in all, expect a fascinating episode that is about trying to effectively determine your future — and there could also be a few surprises along the way.
