The Timeless movie will have an important Lucy – Flynn scene

One of the important things about the upcoming Timeless movie airing on NBC December 20 is quite simple: All bets are off. This may very well be the series finale for the show and with that in mind, it feels like the producers want to make sure that they deliver on a number of things they are eagerly craving. Apparently, that includes getting an important scene out there between Lucy and Flynn … one that the producers have been wanting to put on the show for a little while now.

To be specific on the subject, here is some of what co-creator Erik Kripke had to say on the subject as a part of new Entertainment Weekly piece:

“There was an important Lucy-Flynn scene I wanted … It was one of the things I felt strongly about when we were getting into [writing the story].”

As we dive a little bit more into this particular scene, we do hope that it reflects greatly the evolution of these two characters on the show. Back during season 1, it was easy to just blanket Flynn as the adversary, the bad guy, and the character not to be trusted in a billion years. At this particular point, however, it is clear that he is so much more than that — there’s a lot of nuance and there were specific reasons why he acted in the way in which he did. We just have to hope now that the series finds a way to show where the two are now, and what their relationship could be like moving forward, all jam-packed within a fairly short period of time. After all, we are looking at a situation here in which there’s a lot of ground that needs to be covered in just two hours! (No matter what we get, it is certainly better than what we had otherwise — which was no more Timeless at all.)

For those of you who love some other Timeless dynamic duos, rest assured that there will probably be moments for them in the movie as well — think in terms of Lucy and Wyatt or Rufus and Jiya, provided of course that Rufus finds a way to survive some of what’s been going on with him as of late.
