New Amsterdam episode 10 return date hopes for Ryan Eggold, cast

Following tonight’s fall finale, it makes sense that you would be curious in a New Amsterdam episode 10 return date. After all, wouldn’t that prove on some level that the folks behind the scenes did a rather great job? There is already some enthusiasm out there for what could be coming on the second half of the season and here, we’d like to put it into some terms that can be better understood.

Let’s start things off here with a reminder that the Ryan Eggold series has already been handed a back-nine order. That means that there are going to be 22 episodes overall and we’re probably going to see the story stretch out until we get around to May. It makes sense for NBC to do that given that it feels like they want this show to be an anchor for many years to come. It and Manifest have both performed extremely well and set the tone for what has been a very strong scripted lineup all across the board this year.

So when will the return date actually be then? Our hope at present is that the series is going to come back in January right alongside This Is Us, largely due to the fact that these two shows compliment each other nicely and if we were NBC, we would argue that pairing the two up for the majority of the season makes a good bit of sense. We do think that New Amsterdam will face a different sort of ratings test whenever it does air without this lead-in, but we are really not at a point right now where there is anything to worry about there. Let’s just, at least for the time being, enjoy the show that we’ve got and be concerned more for the future when we get around to that point.

Update: New Amsterdam will return on January 8!

As for what we want to see when the show returns, we don’t actually think that New Amsterdam as a series really needs to do a whole lot different. It can just settle in on being the same show that we’ve gotten a chance to see the past several weeks and if it does that, we’ve got a feeling that it will be more than fine down the road. Find that balance between emotional cases and then also personal stories for a number of the doctors.
