Timeless movie promotion coming to Times Square in New York City

While Timeless may be getting a two-hour movie on NBC come December 20, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the end of the story! The movement to save the series is still going strong, and that is why fans continue to rally.  With that in mind, there are going to be two billboards with a message all about the show on November 28 in Times Square. It’s one of the biggest places for advertising in the entire country and beyond just that, it’s also the same day as the famous tree lighting in the city.

The messaging of the billboard (which you can see below) is rather simple — it’s offering encouragement to watch the first two seasons of Timeless on Hulu and, beyond that, it’s a reminder for everyone to tune into the movie when it airs on NBC next month. It does a good job of summarizing the series’ central conceit in a short period of time — hopefully, this does enough to bring more viewers on board the series, given that this is what Timeless needs more than anything. We know that the viewers it have are loyal beyond measure and will stick with the show through thick and thin. These are the fans who got the movie made in the first place; with more of them comes a chance for more Timeless down the line.

If there is one thing that we can stress leading into the Timeless movie it’s simply this: Watch live (especially if you are a Nielsen family) and encourage most of your friends and family to do the same. After all, how many other programs are really going to be airing on December 20? It’s so late in the year that there isn’t a ton of competition and, beyond just that, it’s early enough that most people won’t have started to travel for the holidays. What we’re trying to say here is that there isn’t all that much of an excuse to keep anyone from checking the movie out. If, for whatever reason, you can’t watch it live, DVR or watch it online shortly after! The more viewers are there, the more likely that Timeless could return down the road.

Regardless of what happens, we’re hoping that there is a wonderful, emotional, and deeply satisfying movie coming that will help to get everyone further into the holiday spirit. If we get something more after the fact, that’s the icing atop the holiday cake.
