Wouldn’t it be great if Hawaii Five-0 season 9 was new tonight on CBS? Well, it certainly would be … but that’s not happening. There is no new installment coming up and with that in mind, we’re left to wait for one more week in order to see what’s coming next.

With that being said, it does at least feel like we’ve got some compelling content coming on November 30 when the series returns, most notably due to Guardian! Alas, this is not the same Guardian that exists over on Supergirl, but rather a different hero in costume who is going to try and fight crime across Hawaii. Yet, there’s no guarantee that this Guardian is going to be much of a friend to Five-0. As a matter of fact, Steve seems to be greatly annoyed by him. The first promo for this episode below seems to hint at a little bit of this.
The objective over the course of this upcoming episode will be trying to figure out what happened to a popular urban vigilante, one who ends up getting killed after making a citizen’s arrest. It’s really not that hard to figure out precisely why there would be someone out there who wanted the guy dead, mostly if they felt like he was getting in the way of an operation. While many costumed heroes on superhero shows are able to withstand gunshots and fly away from incidents, this show does not exactly exist in the supernatural world. With that, anything that happens to Guardian or some other vigilante is going to stick.
Probably the funniest part of the promo is coming courtesy of Danny, who makes a quick determination that he has figured out precisely what Danny’s superpowers are — being as irritating as humanly possible. It doesn’t seem to matter what the case is about; these two guys are going to find a way to have an argument about it.
This episode is obviously interesting to us because of the subject matter, but there’s also something rather fun about it beyond that. This is really only the second episode to air after Steve and Danny formally decided to get out of the restaurant business; now that this has been settled, what are they going to do with the rest of their spare time? More than that, what is the series going to do with some of the time that they previously spent on that? Maybe this will be a chance to explore some of the character’s other interests, whatever those end up being.
