Grey’s Anatomy season 15: Are there other worthwhile crossovers?

We’re right in the early days of Grey’s Anatomy season 15 and its midseason hiatus; with that in mind, why not have a little bit of fun?

As a part of our ongoing Crossover November series what we’re giving you here is a list of some great crossover possibilities in the event that the ABC series ever decide to go in a direction that is not just Station 19. Note that we’re not reporting anything as happening here, or that we’re even serious these will — isn’t it just a rather-fun thing to talk about on some level?

The Good Doctor – Given that they’re both popular medical dramas and they each air on ABC, this is simply one that makes the most sense. Yet, at the same time, how do you find a way to make it work? Maybe there’s a certain case at the St. Bonaventure Hospital that requires the expertise of Meredith or one of the other doctors. It doesn’t have to be full-fledged; something small will do.

How to Get Away with Murder – In some ways, we know this is impossible — Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy were not in the same universe, as confirmed by Shonda Rhimes. With that, there’s no way that Meredith could ever meet Annalise Keating. Heck, it’s hard to even imagine story-wise what the reasoning could be unless Annalise needs an expert opinion from a star doctor on a case.

Yet, aren’t rules meant to be broken to some degree?

For the People – Maybe this is a little bit out of the ordinary, but if you can’t find a way to bring back either Callie or Arizona for Grey’s Anatomy, could you do a crossover with them on another Shondaland show? Geographically, this does make a lot of sense, and you could say that one or both of them could end up somehow getting roped into a case. (Yes, we know this is extremely unlikely, but we’re game to speculate on just about anything.)

The Bachelor – Okay, possibly kidding on this one, but if things fizzle out for DeLuca with Meredith we’re starting to think he should be the next star! Think about it — he’s got a great story since he’s been in so many relationships that have failed for so many over-the-top reasons. He’s got the perfect backstory and seems to be right in the Bachelor demographic. Plus, he can bring in his sister to at one point ask tough questions of the contestants! Sure, it’s a fictional character on a reality show … but it’s still kinda funny to think about and we actually do wonder if Grey’s Anatomy would ever do some sort of story that breaks the fourth wall.
