Yet, at the same time it does not appear as though that is going to be the case. There is no installment coming onto the network tonight but luckily, the break is going to be a short one! There will be another installment coming in seven days and, on the other side of that, you’re going to have a chance to see a holiday-themed installment entitled “Bad Santas” a week after this on December 4. Ultimately, that is what the majority of this article is all about. While you’re waiting for more episodes, why not take an advance look at some of what’s coming?
With that in mind, CarterMatt has the full synopsis for this episode, one that will be trying to combine festivities and complicated cases:
While Cole gets into the holiday spirit for his first Christmas with Maya, Murtaugh hopes he can convince RJ to come back home from Costa Rica for the holidays. At the precinct, Cole and Murtaugh are saddled with a complicated burglary and home invasion case. Meanwhile, Avery’s holidays are a bit blue, and Bailey is still trying to figure out her new partner (guest star Paola Lázaro) in the all-new “Bad Santas” episode of LETHAL WEAPON airing Tuesday, Dec. 4 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (LET-309) (TV-14 D, L, V)
Will this episode have a reasonable amount of holiday fun? We’re fairly confident that it will, but some of this said fun may be buried within a wide array of other things, including major challenges for some of the characters as they adapt to an ever-changing world. Take, for example, with Cole — he may be excited to spend some time with Maya for a change, but at the same time she has many traditions at this point that he is not altogether aware of. This is going to be a process and he’s got to be patient with that.
For Bailey, meanwhile, the stakes are a little bit different given that she has to get used to a new partner on the fly in the Gute — someone who may not be altogether interested or eager to get on the same page with her. The conflict between these two may end up being rather fun at times, but in the midst of that we don’t want it to be lost that they are dealing with issues of life and death routinely out in the field. Playful conflict can get super-serious — often super-fast.
