Magnum PI episode 10 return date speculation: When will it return?
Let’s kick things off here, though, with simply this: Acknowledgement that there is no new episode of the Jay Hernandez – CBS series on next week. What’s the reason for that? It really is so simple as the fact that there are only so many episodes a show can have in a season! In this case, there are twenty. Given where we are right now and the way that CBS typically rolls out new episodes, our feeling is that Magnum PI will probably stay on the air until around April. At that point, the network will put something else on — think in terms of another season of Elementary or something else that they may want to air over the summer.
For the time being, though, let’s get back to the subject of speculating on the show’s return. Based on most early information we have right now, it does not appear as though the show will be back until December — potentially even December 10. That is a long period of time to wait but CBS, hopefully, will make it worthwhile by giving you some sort of holiday special. We’ve seen executive producer Peter M. Lenkov do that with some of his other shows, whether it be Hawaii Five-0 or MacGyver. (If there isn’t one this year, then maybe that’s incentive for there to be a season 2 renewal!)
While there is no official synopsis out there for episode 10 just yet, we do think that the pattern for Magnum PI dictates to a certain degree some of what you’re going to see — some sort of eccentric client and then, to go along with that, a strange case that tests Magnum and gives most of his friends something to do in order to get involved. The more that the writers can make things personal for these characters, the better off that this show is going to be as a whole.
Down the road this season, we know that it’d be nice to get some of the guest stars back who appeared earlier on this season — that of course goes along with a potential Hawaii Five-0 crossover that has been talked about. Lenkov told CarterMatt before the premiere that this is something that he’d like to do in the event that Magnum PI got an order for some additional episodes; we just have to see now if it comes to fruition.
