Mrs. Carter: Based on some early indications, it looks as though Criminal Minds season 14 episode 8 could be huge for David Rossi!

In the short promo below for Wednesday night’s new episode “Ashley,” you can see David make a big proclamation — it seems as though he and Krystall are engaged! The two have certainly had a topsy-turvy relationship over the years, but things have gone a little bit better for them as of late. They’d have to be for Rossi to want to make this sort of commitment to her. He’s certainly a guy who knows already what matters in marriage, mostly because he’s gone through divorce on a number of occasions already. This is a chance for him to learn from his past mistakes.

Yet, is marriage really something that is in the cards for him? Well, some of the details for this episode that are out there already suggest that there could be some snags when it comes to this relationship; personally, we don’t exactly thing that David is out of the woods here when it comes to trouble. He’s going to need to figure out a way to be consistently there for her while also being committed to the job; I get that this is a hard thing to manage given how all-encompassing the BAU can be, but remember that many other characters within this show manage to pull this off! That includes characters who have significant others who aren’t even really involved in this business at all.

Ultimately, I root for Rossi just because he’s been such a strong, moral center for this team for such a long time, and he’s given so much of his life over to the FBI in order to help others. He’s been almost as loyal a soldier as you can possibly hope to have, and you do want to see some happiness for him on the other side of that. It’s more or less a way in which to reward the character — provided of course that the romance makes sense. It’s wonderful to pair him up with someone who seems like a perfect match, but he also should not get a love interest simply for the sake of having one. There does need to be some sort of give and take that is present here.

Be sure to watch live if you can! Given that this episode is airing the day before Thanksgiving, viewership is going to be harder to come by than ever!
