Midnight, Texas season 2 episode 5 preview: Drowning the sadness

Midnight, Texas season 2

There are a couple of things worth noting about Midnight, Texas season 2 episode 5 as we get closer to the episode airing, with the first one being its air date. While the vast majority of television programming is going to be off the air in seven days’ time, the same cannot be said for this show! Instead, it is going to be back with another installment entitled “Drowning the Sadness in Chardonnay” (really one of the best titles possible), and it will air at its standard 9:00 p.m. Eastern timeslot.

So is it a good thing or a bad thing for the show that there’s a new episode coming in one week’s time? Well, the good news here is clearly just the fact that there’s a sense of consistency here, and you really are getting a chance to check out one episode every week until the end of the season. The bad news is that next week is Black Friday and that is not exactly the best week in the world in order to air new episodes of more or less anything. You are potentially getting yourself into all sorts of trouble in the ratings unless viewers are really cognizant of the chance and keep watching as a result of that. Alas, there is really no guarantee of anything and this show is already in a rather hefty amount of ratings danger.

Our advice here remains the same as it’s always been: If you love Midnight, Texas, watch live. It’s going to be on during some rough weeks of the season given that NBC seems to be moving it out in order to get some new episodes of The Blacklist on down the road.

Below, CarterMatt does have the Midnight, Texas season 2 episode 5 synopsis with some more information as to what’s coming up:

11/23/2018 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Friday) : Lem makes a shocking decision. Olivia’s past comes back to haunt her. Fiji seeks outside help from her fellow Light Witches. A suicide pits Manfred and Kai against one another. TV-14 L, S, V

Hopefully, that’s a compelling-enough story in order to convince you to watch! It definitely does seem on the surface that there are some compelling events coming, including significant character conflicts and situations that are going to make some characters question their allegiances perhaps in even bigger ways than they ever have before.

In the end, if you love Midnight, Texas, it does feel like this story will pack a rather significant ratings punch. We just hope that there are enough people around in order to actually see it and give it some love.
