Timeless movie: Abigail Spencer presents interesting tease on final scene
There’s a lot of fun coming our way in the Timeless movie on December 20, but based on the latest tease via series star Abigail Spencer, there may also be a little surprise!
Speaking on the subject of the very final scene from the movie to TVLine, Spencer (who plays the time hero of all time heroes in Lucy Preston) uttered the following super-interesting tease:
“The final, final scene? I’m not in it … The plot thickens … So I’ll tell you that.”
If that doesn’t make you curious as to precisely how this project is going to come to a close, what else will? This suggests a very curious end to the movie if Lucy is not in it, given that she is a main point-of-view character for the series. She was the first person we focused on in the pilot, and she alongside Wyatt were the final people we focused on in the season 2 finale.
Does this mean the movie ends on a big cliffhanger?
We wouldn’t go that far. Instead, this could just be an alternate way to get closure on some other characters, or the ending could just be a small teaser for what the future of Timeless could look like other than a big cliffhanger. We don’t foresee this ever being the sort of show that is just going to wrap up every story within a neat little bow. Instead, we view it a little more as the sort of series that will always want to leave something open, even if it is a small little teaser for whatever the future could be in the event that more is ordered down the line. We’ve always been a proponent of getting more Timeless in the form of a season 3. Yet, if that doesn’t happen, we are just as excited about the prospect of maybe getting more of the series in the form of more movies down the line. Why not make this some sort of a holiday tradition like Doctor Who or Call the Midwife? Even if the cast all land other series-regular projects, which is expected given that they’re all super-talented, this would enable them to potentially work something out with their schedules.
For now, let’s just not get too far ahead of ourselves given that we’ve got a while to go until the Timeless movie airs and even when it does, there are still all sorts of other ratings measurements to be factored in before we get around to the future.
