Station 19 season 2 episode 7 preview: Could someone die in a windstorm?

Station 19

When a crisis impacts the world of Grey’s Anatomyit also does have the same impact over on Station 19Even when these two shows don’t have full-on crossovers, they do have the luxury of being able to carry over similar themes from one episode to the next. The windstorm may actually be the biggest crossover character of all next week! (If you missed it, head over to the link here to check out some details for what’s coming up on the Grey’s Anatomy portion of this story.)

Oh, and we should mention that this is also the Thanksgiving episode of Station 19 coming up, though we’re not 100% positive that everyone is going to be alive in order to enjoy it. Then again, how seriously should we take the sort of “no one is safe” warnings that networks often give us? They did that for most of the summer with this show, and yet everyone ended up being okay. The irony is that right when we start to feel like everyone’s A-Okay with this show, Stacy McKee and the writers will probably go ahead and send someone to their doom. Isn’t it sadistic how television works sometimes?

The title for this episode, by the way, is “Weather the Storm” — which may be the most on-the-nose episode title of all time and yet, we’re not mad about it. This is a show that has used many a fire cliché in the narration at the start and end of various episodes; if this was a problem for us, we would’ve stopped watching weeks ago.

Below, CarterMatt has the Station 19 season 2 episode 7 synopsis with a little more insight all about what’s coming:

“Weather the Storm” – As the team gathers for a Friendsgiving celebration at Dean’s, a violent windstorm touches down in Seattle. As the storm picks up speed, creating dangerous fire conditions, the crew must put the festivities on hold and report for duty, leaving some of them in a life-threatening situation, on ABC’s “Station 19,” THURSDAY, NOV. 15 (9:01-10:00 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.

Given that this is the last Station 19 episode until, presumably, the new year, you gotta hope that the writers have some big stuff up their sleeves beyond just watching the firefighters eat turkey — this is a show that does still need its big moments in the midst of its attempts to get people watching for many years in the future. Basically, Grey’s Anatomy formed a number of landmarks over time, whether it be “Chasing Cars” as a franchise song or the concept of “dancing it out” in general. These are still some things that Station 19 still needs to figure out in one form or another.
