Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 8 preview: Are alliances already breaking?

Is there any way Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 8 matches the greatness of the merge episode tonight? It’s going to be tough. That isn’t to completely dog what CBS has coming up next; it’s more just us bowing at the altar of excellent Survivor merge episodes. These are, routinely, one of the best episodes of the season since these are virtually your first real opportunity to see where everyone stands in the game. There aren’t all that many opportunities to really dive deep and get a microscopic view beforehand.

So where exactly will things go moving into episode 8? Well, it seems like there’s a reasonably good chance that some alliances could continue to fizzle even after some started to fall apart tonight. The brochacho bond over at Tiva, for example, could be over. Meanwhile, Angelina’s in a tough spot after she was outed as going against the Goliath tribe in telling Elizabeth that she was going out of the game. She’s gotta regain trust and that’s not going to be easy. The best players are typically the ones who are under the radar … but how many people are really under the radar now? There aren’t that many.

Still, this episode does have all the makings of another classic if the David tribe can find a way to get rid of a Goliath. After all, that seems to be the primary objective now that they’re getting whittled down in the numbers. If that happens too much longer, they are going to wither away outright.
