Lethal Weapon season 3 episode 7 preview: Someone save Cole!

Lethal Weapon season 2 promo

Next week, Lethal Weapon season 3 episode 7 is coming on the air with “Bali” — which is so much more than just an awesome place to vacation. It also happens to be the continuation of the action-packed (and super-violent) story of Tom Barnes, who we’ve come to know as a guy with a penchant for getting the job done. The problem there is that for him getting the job done means that we end up seeing a lot of bullets flying and bodies piling up. There’s a reason why Wesley Cole turned out the way that he did! He was trained by someone who really made a name for himself being a boss with a gun.

Oh, and we should mention there’s another not-so-small problem here at the moment in that in the closing minutes of tonight’s episode, Cole was captured. That’s not a good look for his future, now is it? Luckily, there is a good contingent of people out there willing to help get him back — think most of our beloved characters mixed with someone else (relatively) new.

Below, we offer up the Lethal Weapon season 3 episode 8 synopsis with some other information as to what is coming up. Take a look…

Murtaugh turns to Cole’s former mentor, Tom Barnes (guest star Mykelti Williamson), for help on a high-stakes cartel case. Meanwhile, Murtaugh and Trish meet Natalie (guest star Maggie Lawson) and Maya (guest star Shay Rudolph) for the first time, and tensions mount between Bailey and “The Gute” (guest star Paola Lazaro), as the new partners begin to work together in the all-new “Bali” episode of LETHAL WEAPON airing Tuesday, Nov. 13 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (LET-307) (TV-14 D, L, V)

At the moment, Operation Save Cole seems like it’s going to be the top priority for this episode — as it should be, given that we’re chatting here about a situation where one of the main characters is in grave danger. Of course, part of the problem is that Murtaugh and Barnes don’t exactly have a history of pairing up and learning about each other. They’re going to have to figure out their chemistry virtually on the fly.

Elsewhere, expect instant comedy with Bailey and The Gute working together, mostly because The Gute seems to be someone who trades in rule-breaking and/or convincing people that she is a criminal when she’s actually cop. Maybe the two can teach each other something and this can almost be Lethal Weapon wrapped inside Lethal Weapon. This isn’t exactly a show that often goes this meta but hey, don’t you have to try new things here and there?

Let’s finish by circling back now to “Bali.” Tonight’s episode “Panama” was titled as a reference to Cole’s past; this one could be the same thing.
