Is FBI new tonight? What’s next in episode 7 — and beyond!

FBI

For those of you who have had a chance to get into FBI on CBS as of late, there’s a chance that you’ve relished the opportunity to dive head-first into a number of intense stories. This show basically feels like a crime procedural after spending ten hours in the gym — its cases are as high-stakes and as dangerous as they come, and despite a lot of changes behind the scenes, the wheels just keep on turning for Missy Peregrym and the rest of the cast.

It’s too bad that, at least for one week tonight, the wheels are starting to spin a little bit slower. FBI is in the midst of a one-week hiatus, one spawned entirely by the midterm elections. Of course, there is some irony in that right when America could probably use some escapism, we have none; yet, voting is important, especially if there are any of you out there still in line. If you are, stay in line and we will give you some FBI news while you wait!

New FBI episodes will begin again on CBS in a week’s time and with a story, entitled “Cops and Robbers,” that will feature Maggie and OA having to take down some robbers in disguise. The robbers are going to be posing as cops, which would probably be even cooler if there was some sort of science-fiction body-morphing thing going on here. (Okay, maybe not — that isn’t this kind of show.)

As you look a little bit down the line, there are some changes coming. Chicago Fire Chicago PD showrunners Derek Haas and Rick Eid are the new people in charge of the series following the exit of Greg Plageman, and you will start to behold more of their own handiwork a little bit later in the season. With that, you gotta imagine that they are going to bring some of their fingerprints over from their other shows where they are masterminds at offering up great cases, but also allowing for opportunity to get to know Maggie and OA more as characters, with the rest of the FBI New York team included in there, as well. Save for some moments of exposition and a few isolated scenes, it does feel as though there is a good bit of work that still needs to be done. This universe needs that fleshing out since otherwise, the cases of the week are mere blips on the radar, and it could be all the more challenging to see this series get a season 2 down the line. For the time being, our sentiment is to be optimistic — cautiously optimistic — about what lies ahead.
