Ray Donovan season 6 episode 2 reaction: Where is Mickey Donovan?
Just one week removed from inducing a heart attack at the hospital, Mickey now finds himself on the road. He escaped the hospital, Bunchy is in the wind with him, and we certainly have to wonder where things are going to go now.
If there is one thing that Mickey knows how to do rather effectively, it is figure out a way to go under the radar — while tormenting Ray in the process. It’s fair to say that all of this is coming, though Ray is dealing with a number of his own problems. He’s not back to what he once was in Los Angeles, but he’s getting there. He’s got a new crisis to fix via the Mayoral candidate, Sam Winslow is once again a part of the story, and all signs point towards his life getting very messy with all of this soon. Beyond just that, Ray also had to unravel the aftermath of the jump and everything else from the premiere — nothing for Ray ever tends to go away quickly, even if he would like for it to.
Our feeling on Ray Donovan is that the show goes often as Ray goes. If his life is surrounded in chaos, the show is probably going to be better off for it. It’s kind-of mean to say that this show succeeds when Ray is miserable, but there is an element of truth to that.
