The Walking Dead season 9 episode 6 preview: Life without Andrew Lincoln

Walking Dead season 8

The Walking Dead season 9 episode 6 is going to prove itself to be a rather-strange one. How could it not be? This is the first one without Andrew Lincoln and what we’re looking at here, effectively, is a show that is very much different than any other that we’ve seen over time. Yet, the show must go on … at least for the rest of the season. There’s no real word about life beyond that just yet.

Below, CarterMatt does have The Walking Dead season 9 episode 6 synopsis with some other information regarding what is coming up next (with a SPOILER warning):

Six years after Rick’s disappearance, a group of strangers test Alexandria’s trust and patience.

This is clearly where things get a little bit shocking — why would AMC reveal THAT much in an official description? This big of a time jump means a number of different things. For starters, this seems to give away that there isn’t going to be any new crossover between this show and Fear the Walking Dead anytime soon. With that being said, it does also seem to imply that there’s plenty of ways in which Lauren Cohan’s Maggie could be written off. This is a series embracing a full reboot, and deciding to make some big moves away from the series that they’ve been to do something new.

In some ways, we do get it … but we’re also very aware that it is going to be really strange to not see the immediate impact of Andrew Lincoln’s departure with some of these characters.

(To be honest, we’re surprised that a description this specific was uploaded prior to the episode airing in the first place.)
