Ray Donovan season 6 episode 2 video: Can Ray clean up his latest mess?

Moving into Ray Donovan season 6 episode 2, it’s already clear that the title character has found himself in a pickle.

Let’s start, first and foremost, with the job assigned to him via Sam Winslow. At first, Ray’s responsibility was to simply keep a political candidate on the straight and narrow and eliminate a problem from her past caused by a creepy man and an X-rated recording. However, things have now escalated given that said man is seemingly dead and with that, the responsibilities for Ray change. He is going from a guy who was just trying his best to make a problem vanish to a guy who has to dispose of a dead body. There are some very particular tools that he will need to acquire to make this happen and already, Ray’s going to feel over his head. He’s in a new city, he’s still coping from what happened with the jump, and now he’s got this problem thrown onto his lap.

Beyond just this crisis, there’s also the fallout from the jump itself where it is clear that Mac is getting some witness testimony that complicates everything for Ray. What happened at the start of the season is not something that is going to go away for him for a while and he better just be prepared to try and handle that.

Beyond all of this, there’s one other problem that he certainly did not expect in the slightest: Mickey having a heart attack. It’s not altogether clear if Ray or the other Donovans are going to actually learn about some of the circumstances that led to the incident happening, but this was certainly self-induced by Mickey as a part of his latest scheme to find himself a free man.

Basically, entering Ray Donovan season 2 Ray is in trouble, Mickey is being sketchy, and there’s no way of nothing whether or not our title character will make it out of this situation still in one piece. In other words, all is right with the world.
