Over the course of this hour, we had a chance to be introduced fully to Amber, someone who apparently is also a psychopath, but the marriage didn’t exactly work out like either had wanted. (Yet, we are left with a flurry of different questions — we want to know what the wedding was like, coupled with virtually what these two did as a day-to-day routine. Is it terrible macabre that we almost want a Murdoc spin-off?)
The reason why Amber turned up tonight was because of a kidnapping — she took Murdoc’s son and he wanted to ensure that he got him back. Beyond just that, Murdoc captured Mac’s girlfriend and basically forced him to help out. By the time that Murdoc and Amber actually sat down and had a heart-to-heart, all of a sudden it seems that she had changed. She didn’t want to be the person she was before prison anymore.
Yet, as it turns out, Amber wasn’t quite reformed just yet. She ended up going against Murdoc, and this episode became a twisted game of cat-and-mouse. Murdoc had to find his son, and then beyond that, dispatch his wife in the process. He didn’t want her to be around, but he also didn’t want to kill her.
Back with the rest of the team…
They kicked off the episode going on a desperate search in order to find Mac’s girlfriend Nasha, who was a key to of course uncovering him. They were able to find and locate her, which means that at least in the end, Mac didn’t have anything to worry about from this department.
After Murdoc rescued his son, he found himself in the midst of a predicament — he wanted to protect his son, but he also realized that one of the only ways to make that happen was to get himself locked up. Murdoc was put into federal custody, but in turn, his son was placed in a good home.
As for Nasha, she and Mac reunited at the end of the episode and she said that everything is going to be okay … but is it really? She’s always going to be a target.
CarterMatt Verdict
This episode proved to be a crazy one, but we rather love any opportunity to see David Dastmalchian on the series. We wonder just how he’ll be a part of the series moving forward, but we certainly have a feeling that the character is not gone from this world just yet.
As a whole, isn’t this one of the best episodes of the season? We’re certainly feeling that way, at least right now.
