Is big Shadowhunters season 3 news coming shortly? Signs point to it…

Earlier today, series star Isaiah Mustafa posted a message making it clear that there is some “awesome” news coming up soon. Whether or not “soon” means today remains to be seen, but we know that there are MANY different things that we’re excited for. Take, for example, finally getting to know the air date for the remaining twelve season 3 episodes. Or, getting to see some sort of larger trailer. There’s a lot of stuff that Freeform could release for what’s already been filmed; the fact that they’ve had a lot of it in the can for several months now is rather maddening.
We do certainly think there’s no better time for new information than the present, given that releasing something today would give us at least something to be excited about going into the weekend, let alone the rest of the month. All signs have pointed to season 3B premiering early next year — granted, there’s also a big difference between the show coming on in January and then coming on in March or April. “2019” has a tendency to be rather ambiguous in that way. At this point, though, any news is better than just twiddling our thumbs wondering what’s next.
Rest assured that no matter what the announcement is, we’ll be here to cover it. (We wish it was some sort of magical news about a season 4, but haven’t heard anything on that front. For now, filing that away in the “wishful thinking” folder.)
