Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 8 preview: The ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ story

Next week, Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 8 is going to air an installment called “Hell’s Kitchen,” but we don’t think that’s a reference to the Gordon Ramsay show. More than likely, it’s tied to the part of New York where a part of this story could be set. It’s a case involving a New York restaurant waitress who finds herself assaulted; in the aftermath of that, you’re going to see characters doing everything that they can to get to the bottom of what actually happened here.

This is one of those episodes that is probably getting attention more for the director (in Chicago Fire alum Monica Raymund) than anything that is happening within it. We don’t think that’s a bad thing, mostly because A) Raymund is a tremendous talent and B) it is possible that this will end up bringing a number of people to the series who have not seen it in some time or, shockingly, ever. The idea of someone never seeing SVU, a pop-culture touchstone for the better part of the past several decades, is still a tough thing to really think about.

11/08/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Thursday) : A waitress from a trendy New York restaurant is sexually assaulted at an after-hours VIP party. There isn’t too much more to discuss here beyond what we already know, but it does feel clear that this is going to be one that could be difficult when it comes to finding witnesses. How many people at a nightclub are really paying attention to most of the world around you?
