Elementary season 7 progress report: Jonny Lee Miller has some Halloween fun

If you look below at Jonny Lee Miller’s official Instagram, you can see a Freddie Mercury inspired costume that he wore on the show’s met; meanwhile, it’s pretty clear in the process that the crew is also getting in on the fun! This is what’s great about working on a long-running series; the cast and crew develop a really close bond and there’s flexibility for them to goof off and do some of this fun stuff together. The more we get of this on some of the shows we cover, the more we realize that everyone clearly gets along behind the scenes.
Beyond just the sheer fun of seeing these costumes, it’s also fair to wonder whether Sherlock and Watson are going to be heading back to New York. After all, Miller’s photo is set at the famous brownstone and that makes us think that eventually, the two characters will be back from London. That goes along with some of what’s been said already about the upcoming season — even if the season starts off with the characters in the UK, there is no guarantee that they will remain there forever. The same goes for the core four characters being separated — one way or another, you will see Bell and Gregson find their way back into their orbit. Season 6 ended in a way that could have made for a perfect series finale; we’re glad that it wasn’t, but part of the creative challenge now is finding a way to get these characters back together after they seemingly feel so apart.
Elementary season 7 will likely premiere at some point in the spring.
