Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 7: Watch a scene featuring Sasha Alexander
In the sneak peek below, you do get a little bit of a sense regarding who Alexander’s character really is. She is a mother who is trying to grapple with the unthinkable: The deaths of her children. A horrific accident at her home led to everything in her life falling apart, and it is now up to the people at the Special Victims Unit to figure out why this happened and who could possibly want to commit this sort of heinous act.
Through this particular sneak peek, we learn a couple of important things: There isn’t all that clear of a motive, especially since her husband is a writer who doesn’t really have a long list of enemies. (Also, he was very involved in the lives of the kids.) The only other person with a key to the home is Delores, the family nanny and someone who treated the kids like family. The one thing that is suspicious is that Delores, at least since the time of the murders, seems to be in the wind and Sasha’s character has not heard from her. Even if she is not the person responsible, it certainly feels as though she could somehow be involved.
Overall, our expectation entering this particular episode is simply that it’s going to be a difficult one to sit through, mostly because the crimes at the center of it are so earth-shattering and heartbreaking. We do anticipate a fantastic performance from Alexander, who we’ve sorely missed on TV since her run on Rizzoli & Isles and also her recent run on Shameless. Our hope here is that, in one way or another, this leads to her getting some more series roles down the line. SVU does often love to give fantastic material to its guest stars, so fingers crossed that this is a welcome step in a very-right direction.
