When could a Blue Bloods season 10 renewal be announced?
The point of this article is about something a little bit different — when we could be seeing a season 10 renewal announced. On paper, this feels like a sure thing. There’s been no talk about this being the final season, just as there’s no talk about anyone leaving. Making sure every major cast member is still on board here is the first order of business for everyone involved behind the scenes.
Beyond that, let’s move to the next order of business: When would CBS announce it? Alas, probably not anytime soon. Even if Blue Bloods is set up for a season 10 sooner rather than later, that doesn’t mean that they will create some quick announcement for it. Typically, the network likes to announce a bulk renewal for many of its shows at once. What that means is that they will wait to make sure that all of the shows are together at the same time. Basically Blue Bloods may have to wait for some other series before the renewals are officially.
At the moment, our guess is that Blue Bloods, provided nothing crazy happens, will probably be renewed at some point in either March or April. This follows the timeline for this past year, where the renewals came slightly later than usual (which could have been either due to longer negotiations or the Olympics slowing down the production schedule ever so slightly).
Obviously, the ratings for season 9 are something that we will continue to chart.
