11/07/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : Intelligence suspects the leader of a local mosque is behind the bombing of an Army recruitment station. After a second explosion, Voight (Jason Beghe) urges Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) to follow the facts and not let his time in the service cloud his judgment. TV-14 D, V
With this particular story, it feels like the conflict here is pretty obvious — Jay is going to be eager to move quickly on this particular case, feeling personally connected to the Army station and feeling as though this could have been a deliberate bombing. He wants to get revenge and justice. Yet, by now he should also realize that not everything within the world of Chicago PD is precisely as it seems. There are twists to almost every case, and it does seem as though someone could be setting up the mosque to create an anti-Muslim sentiment in the city.
Ultimately, the good news with Jay is that he’s surrounded by people who will help to keep him focused and keep his eye on what matters more than anything else: Justice, in whatever form that this may take. They are going to want to ensure that the case gets solved the right way rather than the quickest way possible.
