The Purge season 1 finale video: Who lives and who dies

The Purge

Are you ready to see The Purge and its season 1 finale air on USA come Tuesday night? All signs point to it ending in chaos.

Also, we certainly don’t think that it is any coincidence that the series is ending the same night as the midterm elections. This franchise, whether it be in movies or in this particular, has no problem having a political slant in at least its promotional efforts. This is a story about anarchy and basically a world without government, which is precisely the sort of thing that people (especially on Twitter) like to tout on the campaign trail.

Story-wise, we’ve already seen characters die this season (RIP Jane), just as there have also been people who have surprised us in terms of precisely how we’ve felt about them. There’s also still room for that to change a little bit more in the future.

Below, The Purge season 1 finale synopsis offers up some more information right now on what lies ahead:

Penelope takes charge. Miguel and Pete grapple with an unexpected enemy.

So is the season 1 finale going to be the series finale for The Purge? One thing that’s worth noting here is that the show seems to be drifting slightly from its “10-episode television event” label that it had going on leading up to the premiere. Now, the promo below refers to this as the “season finale,” which certainly makes us think that there are at least considerations for more. The ratings for The Purge season 1 have definitely been solid over at USA, and given the horror tradition of making one season after another, it makes perfect sense to think that there could be another batch of episodes down the line.

For the time being, though, we’re imagining that things are going to be intense … but we do hope that there’s some sort of proper ending to the story.
