After three straight weeks on the air, the Nathan Fillion series is going to be taking a little bit of a break. There’s no new episode airing on the show next week, and there is ultimately a rather-simple reason for that: The Midterm Elections. Given that ABC is going to be likely airing coverage of the big event over the course of the night, they don’t want to be interrupting any of their programming. That’s probably the case especially for a series airing at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. The last thing that they’re going to want to do here is put something on the air that doesn’t get good ratings or has to deal with rather frequent interruptions.
Just in case you want more news regarding The Rookie episode 4, know this: The title is “The Switch,” and you can view some more information below:
The rookies are temporarily paired with new training officers, and Officer Nolan is paired with Officer Lopez. When Nolan and Lopez track down an escaped criminal, they discover a little kindness goes a long way. Meanwhile, Jackson is forced to face his fears when he is partnered with Officer Bradford, while Officer Chen and Nolan must face a hard truth.
This could end up being one of the more fascinating episodes that we’ve had a chance to see so far, mostly due to the fact that we’re looking at some different character pairings here. With a show like The Rookie that features characters often out in the street stopping crimes, you have to figure out a way to continue to make things fresh. That’s often no easy feat, but we feel like this series is going to find a way in order to make things happen.
