So is Reedus ready for the responsibility of being the male lead? It does seem that way, though it does also seem as though he misses Andrew just as much as Andrew misses everyone.
Speaking in a new interview with Deadline, here is what Reedus had to about Lincoln coming back to the set at least once since his initial departure:
Let me say this, Andy’s been on set since he’s left but he’s like, you know, this show, it’s the best it’s ever been. He’s like I’m kind of bummed, it’s f—ing amazing right now, you know? And the truth is, it is. It got better. The band got tighter.
Are we surprised about Reedus’ assertion? Not really, mostly because we think most of the cast and crew probably want to prove to people that this is a series that can still succeed without Andrew around. Everyone has said that the ratings are going to tank, and in all honesty, they probably will decline. Yet, at the same time there’s still hope that this could be a really good shot. There could be some surprises that the creative team can pull off — we have seen that after departing original cast members before.
