This Is Us season 3 episode 6 promo: Is Beth falling apart?

As we move into This Is Us season 3 episode 6 airing on NBC Tuesday night, NBC is doing a rather wise thing. Basically, they are allowing us to dive into the head of yet another character we haven’t had a chance to as of late.

On this past episode, there was a chance to see and understand Toby so much more than we ever have before and his battle with depression; Kate is now in a position where she needs to figure out how to help him, and that is not going to be an altogether easy thing for her.

Meanwhile, Randall is going to realize himself this week that while Beth has done her part to act as though everything is okay, the reality is that it’s not. She has been struggling from the moment that she lost her job, but has done her part in order to ensure that she is there to support him. That includes putting some of her own hardships to the side for the sake of helping him. She broke down at her last job interview, more than likely, because she didn’t have any other way to channel some of her grief. She found herself in a position where she had to just let some of it out and this is the decision that she came to.

This episode could put a strain on Randall and Beth’s marriage, and while we know that Randall is one of the kings of grand gestures, we do still think at the same time that he is going to have a rather hard time with this particular situation. A gesture alone is not going to fix this.
