American Horror Story: Apocalypse episode 8 preview: The story of ‘Sojourn’

Sarah Paulson

Do you want to know what’s ahead when it comes to American Horror Story: Apocalypse episode 8? The first and obvious thing worth noting here is this: The story is airing on Halloween! Typically, this show does really big episodes around October 31, and when you think that they’ve already done “Return to Murder House” this season, that tells you a thing or two about whatever they’ve got coming up next: It’s probably going to be big.

Alas, in true American Horror Story fashion, the network isn’t giving you a whole lot of information as to what’s coming up next — beyond of course the title in “Sojourn.” This word is defined as a temporary stay and that raises some interesting questions about who’s going somewhere, and also why. There’s not a whole lot else out there in advance.

So what do we know? How about some episode titles for the rest of the season! The ninth episode of Apocalypse carries with it the title of “Fire and Reign,” whereas the finale carries with it the name of “Apocalypse Then.” That’s a pretty-clear reference to Apocalypse Now, but the change of words makes it clear that this could be a reflective story. It’s a chance to look back, and then also wonder if there is anything to look ahead at. Can there actually be a future in the midst of so much chaos?

Stay tuned; once there is some other information out there about this episode and the story coming up, we’ll let you know in this space.
