This Is Us season 3 episode 6 preview: The meaning of ‘Kamsahamnida’

This Is Us season 3

Do you want to know some of what’s coming on This Is Us season 3 episode 6? Let’s start with the title: “Kamsahamnida.”

What does this mean? The basic definition is that this is a polite way to say “thank you” in Korean. (The Korean language can be complicated, but this is one of the safest ones for travelers to use when trying to learn useful phrases.) As for how this actually applies to what’s going on with the series moving forward, however, that remains to be seen. Sometimes This Is Us goes reasonably obvious with their episode titles, whereas at other points, they keep us guessing. This is clearly a situation where the latter is a little bit more true than the former.

What we can at least give you for now is the official This Is Us season 3 episode 6 synopsis courtesy of NBC:

10/30/2018 (09:00PM – 10:01PM) (Tuesday) : Kate struggles with Toby’s depression. Randall makes time for Kevin, who obsesses about Jack’s past. TV-14

Based on this alone, it feels as though everything is going to be a continuance of what we saw tonight, where Toby’s depression started to spiral and, to go along with it, where Randall tried to figure out how to pursue political office only to realize that there wasn’t anyone altogether open for him. Meanwhile, Kevin started to learn some about his father Jack’s time in Vietnam, but has realized in the process that there is so much more here than he ever first realized and this is absolutely something worthy of diving into more. He has to be prepared not to get overly obsessed with it since that could be overwhelming … but we’re not sure that he is going to be able to help himself with that. Just remember for a moment here that, in the flash-forwards at the end of last season, we saw Zoe and Jack on a flight going over to Vietnam. That is clearly something that we are building to right now with these characters.
