Timeless movie filming officially underway; Clockblockers, rejoice!
In a new post on Twitter (see below), star Malcolm Barrett confirmed the news by saying that today was his first day back on set. Does that mean that Rufus is saved? Maybe now 100% as of yet, but it does seem as though this is one of the things that the writing team wants to deliver. The two episodes that are being filmed over the next few weeks are referred to, at least production-wise, as episodes 211 and 212, so they are a part of season 2 for those who like to keep track of such things. They will air later this year over the course of a single night.

It’s going to take a rather-dramatic effort in order to ensure that Rufus is saved, but it definitely does feel like the Time Team is going to get some help. Think along the lines of the future versions of Lucy and Wyatt, who arrived in the present timeline at the end of the season 2 finale. They are going to be risking a lot in order to ensure that their friend is saved, given that we don’t know exactly what these characters running into each other will do. Previously, this was one of those rules that the team tried to avoid.
We imagine that there are also going to be a few more surprises sprinkled into the real world, but what those exact surprises are still remain to be seen. We just want to see if the team can figure out a way to deliver some of these that could se up what the future of Timeless could be, without creating an enormous cliffhanger in the process. At the end of the movie, we want at least most loose ends to be tied up. (A small tease for a season 3 down the road, if it ever happens, is certainly welcome.)
