Lucifer season 4 filming update: Where we are now; what’s to come

Lucifer

Doesn’t it feel like a proper time for a Lucifer season 4 progress report? We certainly like to think so, given that things are rather far along!

At the moment, production is more than halfway through its run of ten episodes, and we are starting to get a sense of some of the most-important stuff that is coming up! We’ve also got a video below with the latest highlights; for more, be sure to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube.

Eve – It’s pretty clear at the moment that Inbar Lavi is going to be a big part of the new season. The actress has been around set a lot, and there is even going to be an episode entitled “All About Eve.” If that’s not a sign, we don’t quite know what is!

Other casting odds and ends – Remember that Graham McTavish is set to play a priest, and one who could be adversarial to Lucifer depending on their relationship and the amount of face-time they have. We don’t think you cast the Outlander star unless it is an especially meaty role. Meanwhile, we just also learned that you are going to be meeting Amenadiel’s sister, which means that there is some more great backstory coming.

The producers are open to Sam Heughan appearing – You can read more about that over here!

Any premiere date updates? – Not at present, but if filming continues at its current rate it’s possible things could be wrapped up before the new year. It’s something to certainly keep watch on, though it will be at least a few months from the end of season 4 filming until we can even start to think about a premiere date.

The urgency to get the word out – We do think it’s essential, especially since Netflix has really taken on a habit as of late of ending shows. Just take a look at the cancellation of Iron Fist and Luke Cage, or the decision to wrap up Orange is the New Black. (That may be more creatively-driven, but it’s still worth noting that Netflix isn’t a show that renews series anywhere near as much as they used to.)
