Timeless movie filming: What we know, how to fight for more

Are you ready for the Timeless movie to be here? If only we had a time-travel machine so that it could be here immediately, but alas, that is not the case.

Instead, we’re going to be waiting for around a couple of months, give or take, to see the movie come out. That’s actually not a long time to wait compared to what we’ve seen with other series / movies, but it may not feel that way right now. Right now, it may feel like that long wait is torture!

What we know about the movie right now is this: The plan is to tie together the events of the season 2 finale, including the big cliffhanger in which Rufus’ fate is left very much hanging in the air. This should offer us some resolution, while also giving us a sense of future Lucy / Wyatt in the process given that they turned up at the end of the finale. Could there be some sort of tease for the future? It’s possible, but we don’t think that it would be a gigantic cliffhanger so much as just a small tease — that way there’s something more the writers could do in the event that they want to bring the show back.

Now, let’s spend a moment discussing the other important thing that matters right now: How to ensure that this is not the end. Watch the movie when it airs in December, preferably live, and encourage others to do the same! Also check out past episodes on Hulu to catch up and generate more income for the service that way; that may give Hulu incentive to potentially pick up the show down the line. Stay vigilant with the campaign, since if the movie does surprise many in the ratings, that could be the very thing that changes the series’ future fate. Even if it doesn’t bring about a new season, maybe the show could do something similar to what Psych is now in giving us a movie every couple of years. (A new season would be preferable, but obviously we’ll take what we can get.)

Filming for the movie is officially slated to begin on Monday.
