Blue Bloods season 9 episode 7 spoilers: Eddie’s mom + trouble for Danny
During the November 9 episode entitled “By Hook or by Crook,” you are going to learn that Lou Diamond Phillips’ character of Delgado is actually very much alive, rather than being beheaded as you saw on the series in the premiere. We feel like this is something that Danny should probably figure out before this episode airs; they’ve got DNA on Delgado and with that, should know that the body they found (at least eventually) is not him. As good as the attempt was to keep Delgado from working with the cartel again, it may not have actually worked
Anyhow, the Blue Bloods season 9 episode 7 synopsis offers up some more news on what lies ahead, including a chance to also see Eddie’s mother on the series (played by Christine Ebersole):
“By Hook or by Crook” – Things get personal for Danny when Luis Delgado (Lou Diamond Phillips), the drug cartel hitman responsible for torching his house, resurfaces. Also, an attack on an officer in the line of duty directly impacts a member of Frank’s team; Eddie reluctantly introduces Jamie to her mother, Lena (Christine Ebersole); and Erin deals with the consequences of her new role as boss, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, Nov. 9 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
It’s going to be great to learn more about Eddie through the lens of her mother, though it’s really just great in general that Blue Bloods is giving us some opportunities to get to know this character better this season overall. There’s certainly been a larger commitment to Eddie and her stories than what we’ve had in the past.
Meanwhile, we do wonder if this Erin story is tied somewhat to what happened on Friday night’s new episode, where Erin realized that she was going to owe a favor. She’s gotten to exercise a little more of her power, but with that does come a cost … and it could eventually prove to be a heavy one.
