Gotham season 5: Shane West teases part of Bane’s costume

Gotham season 5 is going to be premiering on Fox in the new year and one of the big headlines around it has been the presence of Bane. Earlier this month, it was confirmed at New York Comic-Con that Shane West will be playing Eduardo Dorrance, who becomes the series’ version of the iconic character. (Minor Gotham spoilers ahead.) This Bane will break the back of Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred, offering up a nice mirror to what happens in the comics.

While Fox and Warner Bros. TV are obviously interested in keeping most of the finer details regarding Bane under wraps for now, West did release something rather-exciting today: A small look at his costume, or at least one of the character’s iconic gloves! You can see that in the photo below via his official Twitter. This is just the smallest of teases, but it’s enough to generate some excitement as Gotham nears the end of its run in production.

We’ve already heard that Gotham is working right now on its penultimate episode, and of course after that, the end will be almost here. The biggest thing that has been confirmed as of right now regarding the series finale is that it will allow for an opportunity to see Bruce become Batman, even if it is a flash-forward into the future when he is ready to 100% become the character. There may be some other surprises that we get at that point, as well, as we do think the producers will want to create a world that is somewhat-similar to what is out there in the comics.

Alas, the hardest part of Gotham right now is the waiting — fingers crossed that the new few months fly by and we get a chance to really dive into this story in the new year. We’re prepared for a wide array of surprises and some great comic-book content.
