Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 5 video: Fin and Carisi’s search

Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 5 is coming onto NBC Thursday night, and this one is largely about a cult. This is a ripped-from-the-headlines episode discussing a group similar to the controversial group NXIVM; on the show, there is a charismatic leader who may be responsible for a number of terrible acts.

Of course, when it comes to SVU no case is built in a day, so Benson and the entire team needs to do all of the work necessary to build a case. This includes the sneak peek below, where Fin and Carisi visit a suspect’s apartment hoping to find evidence of a relationship to a victim. This is a fairly by-the-book scene, but for those who like the classic mystery-show elements of watching someone hunting around for clues, this may be very well right up your alley.

Also, we just like this scene before it gives Fin and Carisi something to work on individually. We do appreciate that, since any chance we have to get these two guys out in the field together is a chance worth taking.

For those of you who want a second sneak peek, we’ve also got a look at Benson and Rollins discussing Amanda’s pregnancy and how long they have to wait before they have to report it to the higher-ups. Rollins is the sort of cop who wants things to just be business as usual; with that, she is not altogether eager to clue anyone in on precisely what is going on with her. Yet, at the same time Benson knows that there is only so long that they can hold off. They specifically have around a week before they start having to clue people in as to what’s going on, and until then, Rollins wants to keep working the case. We imagine that this is precisely what we are going to see throughout this particular episode.
