The Conners episode 2 preview: Johnny Galecki returns and more

Following tonight’s premiere episode, do you want to know what is coming up next on The Conners episode 2 in one week? After marketing the show around the absence of Roseanne Barr, next week the marketing could shift more over to David. He’s back! Johnny Galecki will presumably be back next week, as we get a chance to see a slice of his life — and his girlfriend Blue to go along with it. Juliette Lewis’ character was referenced on Roseanne earlier this year, and this could be a great chance to dive into this role a little bit further. That is, after all, what comes via seeing the character in the flesh.

Darlene is in for one surprise after another when David introduces his girlfriend, Blue (Juliette Lewis), at a parent-teacher conference and mentions that Mark and Harris will be spending the weekend with them. Dan hires Becky to help out at work, but they both come to learn that she might need more help than she can offer.

It absolutely does make sense for The Conners to decide to lean on bringing in established Roseanne characters in the early going. After all, the objective here seems to be mostly to appeal to longtime fans of the original sitcom, even though there’s a challenge in that with Roseanne Barr gone. You have to figure out a way in which to make this show feel reasonably similar, mostly because people hate change, while also not having viewers continually missing the former title character at the same time. They need to enjoy the show as it is given the fact that Roseanne isn’t coming back.

Don’t expect too many appearances from Galecki over the course of the coming season. After all, he’s still a part of The Big Bang Theory and that can make his schedule limited.
