Ratings: The state of Bull season 3, NBC’s Manifest, and Arrow season 7
Monday night’s new episode, the first featuring Oliver Queen in prison, only ended up generating a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That’s the weakest start for an Arrowverse show so far this year, at least in comparison to Supergirl / The Flash. (Legends of Tomorrow will be premiering on the network next week.) We’ve wondered about the series’ future for some time, especially since without Arrow, there would be no greater Arrowverse. With the flash-forwards this series could be starting to angle towards an endgame — we hope that we don’t get there this season, but it’s starting to be something worth thinking about. (The good news is that in total viewers, the show notched its biggest total in quite some time with 1.42 million watching.)
As for some other shows on the night…
Is Bull doing okay? – We know that there have been some concerns after the ratings for this show have declined in a tough Monday timeslot — this past episode generated a 0.7 rating in the demo. Yet, remember that this show gets good DVR numbers, has a bankable international star, and is nearing a syndication threshold. So long as the ratings don’t continue to fall, it’s not going anywhere. It just couldn’t anticipate how dominant Manifest was going to be in this timeslot.

Speaking of Manifest… – With a 1.5 rating last night Manifest does continue to hold firm, though 911 also delivered the same rating last night. Mondays are one of the richest nights of the week when it comes to there being a wide array of different scripted programming — even The Neighborhood on CBS is getting good total-viewer figures, even if the ratings in the demo are a little more mediocre.
We’ll see if Arrow can recover next week, and if some of these other shows can either continue to stay solid or even improve.
