The Cry episode 4 (finale) preview: The return; the complications

The Cry episode 1

Do you want to know what’s going to be coming on The Cry episode 4? It feels natural to start off by saying this: It’s the last installment of the series. This was long intended to be a four-episode limited series with a defined beginning, middle, and end. This is an adaptation, and once we get to the end of it just about everyone is set to move on. That shouldn’t come as too great of a shock here, mostly given the fact that Jenna Coleman has another series in Victoria. Sooner or later, she’s going to need to move back over to that series.

Below, The Cry episode 4 synopsis offers up some more information right now regarding what’s going up next:

The couple return to Scotland under constant media pressure.

That’s not exactly the biggest tease in the world, now is it? Yet, that is very much indicative of what The Cry has been about so far during its run: The intersection of everything that is going on with a family and also the media. It’s about being trying to make things work in a near-impossible environment, and being back in Scotland is certainly not going to make anything easier or better. There’s an ending that is coming here, but that does not necessarily mean that it will be a happy one for any of these characters.

On the other side of The Cry, the biggest thing that we can really hope for are some opportunities for some of these actors to appear in other risky, character-driven dramas in the future. We’re certainly grateful that Coleman was able to get enough of a break from Victoria to be able to come over here and do a small handful of episodes. The four-episode length is perfect for actors who also have a role on another series.
